The Higher School of Tourism and Foreign Languages in Warsaw was established in 2003 under the decision of the Minister of National Education and Sport. The founder of the Higher School is MSc Jadwiga Barbara Moroz.

Within a short period of time the Higher School established contacts with many research institutions (i.a. with the Tourism Institution) that guarantee high substantive level of education. It cooperates scientifically with European institutes and organisations i.a. with Carnegie College in Scotland, Goethe Institute in Ankara and City Council in Berlin.

One of the advantages of the Higher School is the academic staff consisted of established researchers, authors of academic books and scientific articles published in Poland and abroad as well as practitioners with long-standing experience in tourism industry.
The academic activity of employees finds its reflection in cyclically published since 2008, Scientific Journals titled “Tourism and Recreation” and in monographs.

The Higher School builds on rich experience gained during the realisation of diverse educational programmes such as Leonardo da Vinci or Pilotprojekt Trialog. Especially valuable for the improvement of students’ qualifications was signing the agreement with Swiss ACCEUEIL Language Centre based in Hun that has entitled the workers of the Institute to conduct Europe-wide ACCEUEIL language exams in WSTiJO.

Our Higher School organises study tours and integration trips, actively participates in tourist fairs (national and foreign ones) that help our students get knowledge and practical skills necessary in tourism activity. In order to broaden students’ knowledge and develop their passions, our Higher School provides with numerous extracurricular activities in the history, arts, photography, geography and qualified tourism.

Dynamically working Career Office of WSTiJO organises qualified tourism camps, sightseeing tours and paid traineeships abroad i.a. in Greece, Ireland, France, the USA, the United Kingdom and also student professional traineeships in travel agencies and hotels in Warsaw.  In order to meet students’ expectations in our Higher School, we organise tour guide regular courses that gives them the opportunity to get additional profession.
